Happy Thanksgiving

Fall, Must Be Here

Theres the wind coming in, trees trembling from the cold
~
Already turning from bright green, to wondrous colors of gold.
Soft breeze blowing
~
leaves shiver in the falls cold, frosty bite.
Red, orange and yellow leaves blowing and a brightly colored kite.
One last fling of Summers fun, for kids running round at play
~
Darting in and out of doorways, dressing for a cold, cold day.
Tramping through woods ... abloom with the fall glimmering bright
~
Gathering berries and holly to brighten the halls of home tonight.
Holidays coming ... families waiting for feasts to come on home
~
Bringing gifts by the arm full to parents’ and grand parents’ all alone ...
Who sit waiting, watching the golden glow, from the trees last effort.
Children donning shoes, after summers’ freedom of going barefoot.
Children scampering up the hillsides gathering nuts and leaves galore
~
That they will feast later in winter, on pies and cakes, and more.
Decorating baskets with their haul of leaves and pine cones with care ...
Hoping for the day to come in a hurry, for a feast of turkeys fare.
Look there in the sky, wild geese going south to a warmer seashore ...
Fleeing cold and hunters who are looking for winters’ feathered fare, and more
~
To dress the tables with feasts for their families and friends again,
As in years gone past, feast in splendor, under golden leaves and Falls’ rain.
