This Very Special Birth

We celebrate each Christmas,
(This babe God sent to earth)
His one and only little boy,
And this very special birth.

God sent His Holy Spirit
Upon Mary to conceive,
To bear His son, named Jesus,
So those who saw Him would believe.

Then, as His son grew older,
He taught in temples, throughout the land,
About His Father, up in Heaven,
And His soul's redeeming plan.

He healed the sick and raised the dead;
And did so, as God's spirit led.
He gave sight to the blind and healed the lame,
And did all these things in His Father's name.

His Father was so proud to see
The faithful Son He'd grown to be.
Then, one day, God had to sacrifice
His only Son for our eternal life.

Now, this is the reason for His Special Birth
And why God sent His son to earth.
So, let's sing God's praises, this Christmas Day,
For sending our Redeemer, who was born in the hay.
