Once I made bread and forgot the salt. We had to salt each piece individually for the bread was tasteless. It was like eating the grocery list. Jesus said to His followers, “You are the Salt of the Earth;” And He expected them to make the world a “tastier place in which to live. We are His followers, and He expects us to supply the “Salt” Of love to our Families in order to add zest to their days. The “Salt” of loving service we are to show to our neighbors Helps them through the hard time they are having. The “Salt” of forgiveness that we are to extend to those who have hurt us; Can turn enemies into Friends. If we lose the “saltiness” of love we hurt those Nearest and dearest to us. If we lost the saltiness of loving service; We deprive someone of an extra boost when it is needed. If we lose the “saltiness” of forgiveness, Our Father in Heaven will not forgive us. It is a desperate thing to lose our saltiness. JESUS said that if we do, we are worthless. We pray that he will keep us salty; for He came into the world to be our Savior. If we believe this, we will be the “salt of the Earth” Lord Jesus, Keep us salty with your love and forgiveness. Amen
