His Life for Ours

It was extremely hot that day,
as the sweat poured from His face.
He didn’t want this tragedy. But, sins must be erased.

As he cried out to the Father, He realized He must die.
"Father, take this cup from me,"
was His heart felt burdened cry.

Then, waters that fell from His face,
As He knelt down by the rock, suddenly turned to blood.
But, He knew He could not stop.

Father, please forgive me and let Thou will be done,
It was for this reason that I am here;
For this reason I have come.

I will take your love, Father,
and hold you in my heart,
as those I come to save slowly tears my heart apart.

Today, I will give my life and be the keeper of the crown.
I will destroy Satan’s plan, Father.
I will never let them down.

The stripes, that I must carry,
will free them from sickness and disease.
Let this be done, as I bow down on my knees.

Father, let all their sins be forgiven,
as I hang out on that cross,
and for them a path to heaven; so my death won’t be a loss.

Father, I feel their presence and I know it is time to go.
And, as I give my life this evening,
let them know I love them so.

Now, I must let you shine thru me,
as I rise and take this path,
that others may see your love and find a life that will always last.
