The Foot Of The Cross


I dreamed that I was kneeling;
At the foot of the cross
With my Savior hanging (there)
I watched Him as He suffered,
So much pain He had to bare.

I saw His mother Mary;
And Mary Magdalene
Their tears flowed like a river
Drifting down a mountain stream.

I watched the Roman soldiers;
As they spit in Jesus' face
With a crown of thorns upon His head
To add to His disgrace

Then, I watched the skies grow dark;
When the sixth hour has passed
And in the ninth, He gave up the ghost,
He was free from pain, at last.

I saw one Roman soldier;
Who spoke to me with a nod
And said, "You know truly,
This man was," The Son Of God."

Then I awoke with tear filled eyes;
From a dream that seemed so real
That night I witnessed Our Saviors death,
Upon the cross at Calvary Hill.
