Jesus was Born, Today Many years ago, in a little town called Bethlehem, A babe was born to one precious day, take the helm Of the ship of life or of our soul, if you please, keep it in the lane of life with the greatest of ease. He was born of a little virgin girl, of highest esteem, As the Holy Spirit came to her ~ as in a dream. He closed her eyes to sleep and blessed her among all When He gave her the Babe, who would come to call He knocks at each door many times. Do you hear? He will write your name in the Book of Life, if you care. He was born in a little stable, laid in a manger, on hay. His Glory to the Magi took their breath away He was the son of God, who came to lead His sheep; Making sure that all in His care He would surely keep. Some stray. But, they know their Masters voice above all. His sheep will come back to Him, when they hear His call. He is of a Holy birth. He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Accept Him into your heart and peace He surely brings. He was born to suffer on an old rugged cross there, Upon a Hill, while Mary and others were in prayer. He gladly gave up His throne, His omnipresent that day; His robe of white, His signet ring, for us to find the way To the throne of Glory and salvation for our soul.
