Ashley Webber My True Story
A Prayer Story:
Back in December 2001 when I was barely a Christian,
my dad lost his job. This was very difficult for us
all, because of many things. We prayed and prayed for
several months for him to get a job, and it finally
happened he got one, but it did not last, it was only
a temporary job, so we were back to praying more and
more about this situation, 6 months past, still no
job, only 3 actual interviews, the job market was
horrible.
By now we had no money at all, therefore, we
could not afford to keep our house. This was what
really saddened us all, because my sister and I had
grown up in that home it was our home. But we had to
leave. I was sad for several months and was going on a
downhill away from God, for just a little while. Soon
school started back up (I go to a Christian school) we
learned a lot about trusting God and his plan. This
really helped me to look forward and not keep
concentrating on the bad things in the past. So
instead of going away from God, like Satan was
encouraging, I went toward him, and was no longer so
sad.
Six months after moving into the new house we had
to move again, for we could not pay for it either.
This wasn't saddening yet it was. You see I didn't
really like it at the new home, but it was home. Also
where we were moving I did not want to go. We moved to
my grand parents house. They really help us out a lot,
but they can get on your nerves easily. It was ok
though. We prayed and prayed for my dad to get a job.
He did, but the job, again was only temporary and did
not last. A little before six months after moving
there, just 2 ½ weeks ago, I went to camp, Christian
Camp. Again I learned a lot there as well. What they
did, was paired us up with someone to share prayer
requests, things they are thankful for, and what's
bothering them. One of my prayer requests was for my
dad to get a job. We prayed about it. The next day I
got a email from him saying that he got an interview.
We prayed again for the job to work out and last. A
few more days past, no word yet, but the next day, I
got an email that said, Just a quick note to let you
know that your DAD starts work tomorrow!!!!! I was so
happy, we were supposed to be being quiet and getting
into our bunks, but I didn't I told the girl whom I'd
prayed with about the letter and she and I both yelled
out. Everyone was saying 'Shhhh' but she said no, no,
no we have a praise, she said it and everyone was
saying wow, that's awesome, though they hadn't known
about how long he had been out of work, or that he had
been. It was awesome. I truly thank the Lord for this
wonderful blessing. I also know that it hasn't been
very long since he started working, but it is a full
time job, which none of the previous ones, during the
last 20 months has been, so it is likely to last.
I thank all who knew about this and prayed for him. I
know many of you did and were. Thankyou! The Lord as
truly blessed us. This is just a little story how God
answers prayers in his own time and ways.
Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on
your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge
him and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs
